मथुरा-वृंदावन में भारतीय जनता पार्टी की उम्मीदवार हेमा मालिनी के समर्थन में आयोजित जनसभा में केन्द्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह की मौजूदगी में आरएलडी प्रमुख ने कहा, ‘हेमा जी हम और आप कभी भी आमने-सामने अब चुनाव नहीं लड़ेंगे, यह भी तय हो गया.’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘इस बार नहीं, अगली बार जब कभी मैं लोकसभा लडूं तो आप मेरे लिए प्रचार करने जरूर आएंगी, यह भी वादा लेता हूं.’
