RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary strongly attacked the opposition after opposition MPs abused former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh in front of Chairman Dhankhar in Rajya Sabha. Talking about the current central government, he said, "The working style of the current government also reflects the thoughts of Chaudhary Charan Singh... Only a grassroots government can give Bharat Ratna to Chaudhary Charan Singh."

राज्यसभा में सभापति धनखड़ के सामने विपक्षी सांसदों द्वारा पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री चौधरी चरण सिंह को अपशब्द कहने पर RLD प्रमुख जयंत चौधरी ने विपक्ष पर कड़ा प्रहार किया. उन्होंने मौजूदा केंद्र सरकार के बारे में बात करते हुए कहा कि,, "जो आज सरकार है इनकी कार्यशैली में भी चौधरी चरण सिंह के विचारों की झलक है..एक जमीनी सरकार ही चौधरी चरण सिंह को भारत रत्न दे सकती है।"
